At 3:00 am we woke up to hike the Haiku Stairs (stairway to heaven). It closed down to the public after a few death incidents, so in order to go we had to sneak in when the guards were off duty and we wanted to watch the sunrise. The hike consists of 4,000 stairs straight up a mountain ridge. We all felt like we were climbing a ladder. It was hard but very rewarding and beautiful when we finally reached the top. It was an experience of a lifetime! It has a really interesting back ground, google it for more information.

Super Saturday!
Every saturday some of the local students here put together a "super saturday"! As we were walking to the grocery store some of them stopped and picked us up to come along with them, as soon as they said BBQ, we all thought "free food" and we were in! It was so much fun, even though we all have battle wounds to show for it!
Waimea Canyon and Kipu Falls
While in Kauai we drove to the top of Waimea Canyon. The view through the whole canyon was beautiful. The roads were narrow and windy. It reminded us of a tropical grand canyon. After that we went to Kipu Falls. It was like a jungle gym. There were waterfalls you could jump off of, a rope swing to play on, and a pool at the bottom to swim in. It was so fun!!
Kauai marriot beach resort
In Kauai we were lucky to stay in the nicest resort any of us had ever seen (thanks sandy bingham, you made that possible! we love you!) We enjoyed the huge pool, six hot tubs, and the BEACH front room. Notice how many swimsuits we went through in four days. Ha Ha. The resort had amazing views and wonderful leisure activities to do. We layed in the hammocks, played sand volleyball, and some of us even went snorkeling in the huge pool. That was sure a week to remember!
Na 'Poli Coast
We flew to the beautiful island of Kauai for this past week. We wanted to share with you how amazing it is, and unique from the other islands. Kauai is called the 'untouched island' and now we know exactly why. We hiked the Na Poli Coast the first day, it was an 8 mile hike of beautiful scenery. 4 Miles into our hike we reached an amazing beach where we played in the ocean and also explored the caves. As we kept hiking, we reached a monsterous waterfall... WOW! That was the end of our journey and we headed back. It is probably one of the most beautiful hikes in the whole world. As tired as we were when we were heading back, it was worth every second.

Surf Lessons
The day started out with an amazing opportunity...FREE surf lessons!! Little did we know we would be suckered into paying 30 dollars each for them! But that didn't stop us from having the time of our lives! We surfed the waves like pros at turtle bay resort for a couple of hours and loved every minute of it! Just an ordinary day in the life of beach bums like us! :)
